HIGH FIVE & AMEN

THIS gent is a hero to me. Don't know him, just proud of him even if it was just for a joke. I get really angry at trash like the above. The big billboards on the highway that make God out to be this sarcastic & selfish prick, people who are abusive in words/actions and take God's name in vein to fuel their own hate/bigotry/agendas and staple Gods' name to the end of it to make it righteous. This is what i would call taking Gods name in vein and this more than anything is what offends me the most. Have these people ever read the verse 'judge not lest you be judged' ? God who is perfect and the only one who can know a mans heart leans over to tend to a woman caught in adultery. This perfect love of Jesus cast out the fears of a desperate and needy person, that's the same love we ought to be showing and writing on signs. This love of Jesus is captured in this verse: 'For God sent not the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him.' John 3:17 -> this verse should be as well known as 3:16.

Most of the time i try to see a method that would defuse things, but when stuff like this goes on i get pretty vocal and my heart pumps heavy. I wrote words for a GV song called 'Do No Harm' as apart of my retaliation. Another stranger hero below who points out the misuse of Gods' name as did the gent above.

Everyone should listen to Ben Folds' "Jesus Land"
Here are the words:

Take a walk
out the gate you go and never stop
past all the stores and wig shops
quarter in a cup for every block
and watch the buildings grow
smaller as you go

Down the tracks
beautiful McMansions on a hill
that overlook a highway
with riverboat casinos and you still
have yet to see a soul

Jesusland
Jesusland

Town to town
broadcast to each house, they drop your name
but no one knows your face
Billboards quoting things you'd never say
you hang your head and pray

for Jesusland
Jesusland

Miles and miles
and the sun goin' down
Pulses glow
from their homes
You're not alone
Lights come on
as you lay your weary head on their lawn

Parking lots
cracked and growing grass you see it all
from offices to farms
crosses flying high above the malls
A longer walk

through Jesusland
Jesusland
