Tokyo:11 / Paris:10

"Tokyo now has the most Michelin three-star restaurants, overtaking Paris as the world's culinary capital, says the authoritative food guide." -BBC

FRENCH huh? That's bull*@#! No French person would EVER admit to this fact even if it were true. I'm certainly biased of course, phewey!

k, ive been to both cities. and i say paris should win. i'm not biased, just that i remember i had a LOT more food in paris.

but, with that being said, i need to take the fact that i was 11 when i went to tokyo into account. and clearly my taste system wasnt fully developed then.

so i dunno...

Both wrong. Italy wins.

I've never been outside of the US, but my mom & stepdad were in Paris for their honeymoon, and he ordered some dessert dish, and it ended up being nothing more than a Snack Pack pudding -- and the plastic was inside the pudding!

Now, personally, if I was traveling, I'd be more inclined to be interested in French cuisine... but, then again, I am pretty much allergic to all Asian foods.

Well if it makes you feel any better, as of 2008 it is widely agreed that the best restaurant in the Americas is The French Laundry in Yountville.

There's a 3 month wait for reservations, and its only that short b/c they will not take reservations a day earlier than 3 months before.

Besides, food critics are like all other human beings: subject to societal trends. =O yep, that's what I said. hahaha
